On May 8 2026 I began hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with my partner, a 2,650 mile journey on foot from the Mexican border through California, Oregon, Washington, and eventually ending at the Canadian border. Each day I’m taking small notes on my phone to log moments that feel important. Thanks for being apart of this journey here with me.

*The Southern Terminus in Campo, California where we began.

Day 2. Began hiking at 4:45am to beat the heat. My kind of morning- sunrise coffee with a view. 10 miles of up and down to a creek where we could dunk our bodies. Walked through a campground with a “trail magic box”, a box of free things folks leave for hikers 💕. Set up our tent. Listened to tunes. Read my book. Talked to other hikers. Hung out under a shady tree for 5 hours & sat in the creek till the sun went down. Slipped on a rock and smashed the heel of my left hand pretty good refilling water. Onwards into day 3 with a shooting star 💫 as I rolled out of my tent this morning.

Day 3: 💩 shitshow! If you know you know, I won’t go into detail here, but I will say our friends are amazing, our girls are BRAVE, and our dog is a warrior!

Awoke in beautiful surroundings and hit the trail at 5:15am hiked 11 miles to a cafe where we continued problem solving. LIFE!! Ate. Solved problems. Ate again. Back on trail at 5pm for another 5 miles and hiked into the sunset.

My best question of the day, pre-9am: “How many times do you think you have put your hand in your own shit?”

I’d like to believe I’m reaching another level with my questions out here on trail.
